Location

Centrally located between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Democrat Hot Springs is east of Bakersfield, California on Hwy 178 and nestled twelve miles from the mouth of the Kern River Canyon.  Backdrop to the majestic Kern River, home to hillsides of the California Poppy, Democrat Hot Springs Resort resides among the natural purity of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Driving Directions

Route from Los Angeles Area:

• Take I-5 North toward Sacramento.

• Keep left to take Hwy 99 North toward Bakersfield/Fresno.  Merge onto Bakersfield Hwy 58 East. 

Route from Bakersfield Area:

• Turn left at the Weedpatch Hwy Exit.  Turn right onto Kern Canyon Road - Hwy 185 also known as Niles Street. 

• Turn Right onto Kern Canyon Road - Hwy 178.  Continue on Hwy 178 approximately ten minutes until you see the opening to the Kern River Canyon. (Photo Above)   From the Canyon entrance drive approximately twelve miles. 

• Turn left at the Democrat sign.  Follow the dirt road to our gated entrance.
